Hi everyone,
A few days ago, I activated an old account and created "Eko," a bushido archer. It's been a long time since I played UO, but I was getting bored with WoW, EQ, Vanguard, LoTR, etc, and decided to give my first MMORPG passion another go.
I was a charter edition member, who pre-ordered and played UO from day 1. Originally Laki on Great Lakes, I later joined SP on opening day and was Laki Ta'Kier for about a year. Since then, I have played casually on Napa with my nephews, nieces, and brother, in between other games.
Recently, I ran across an old friend (Demetrius, one of your esteemed members), whom I introduced to UO years ago. He has gone on to achieve far more than I ever have in the game.
So, I look forward to getting to know you guys. Simple math tell me that, based on RoT, it will be at least 6 months before my skills will be good enough for PvP. So, in the mean time, I'll remain blue and keep farming.
See you in game,
Eko |

Howdy Eko! Welcome!
It looks like ROT might be in for an update in the next few weeks, so you may not be looking at 6 months of training! Sounds like good times!
What kind of character are you making? Do you need anything in particular? Should I be keeping an eye on particular skill jewelry (which I usually trash)? _________________

Well, I started out with bushido/archery, but have decided to switch to my favorite, magery/eval.
I'm not sure at this point what my extra skill will be. In the past, I always did swordsmanship, and would pick up a dp katana and rush in for kill shot. However, I'm sure things have changes alot since I played a mage last.
Any mages out there care to share some ideas?
Thanks,
Eko |

-scribe/mages dish out a lot of damage w/ a scrappers
-parry/mage, alot of dexxors out there
-wrestling/mage, u can disarm and stun
i would say necro mage but now that u can eat apples every 20 sec necro sucking.
im not a mage but an archer, my hardest temps to beat is parry/mage and scribe/mage. but only a scribe mage can beat me if they know how to get the spells off right, all in the timing i guess:P
for good advise talk to righty, he is a very good mage:) we have others in the guild that are good too:) _________________

What about an archer mage?
Mage/Med/Eval/Resist/Arch/Tactics?
You can dump on someone and when they run, follow with moving shot.
You'll need a good SCNP bow. _________________

Welcome back. Soulstones are great because you can make some adjustments as you go and not have all your hard work to that point lost. _________________

I believe they are still offering the Soul Stones at $10 @ for the Leagcy Tokens. Might want to grab a few. _________________

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I activated a second account and created a peacer/tamer (Laki Ta'Kier). This way, I have something productive to do each day when RoT points run out on Eko.
having a pocket tamer also seems like a good way to round up LRC and other disposable gear.
Well, thanks again to everyone who has helped me out with gear and information. I'm having a blast being back on SP again.
See you in game,
Eko |
